The Benefits of Using Granite

Tough & Durable

Looking at Moh's Scale of Hardness we can see that granite is one of the worlds hardest, most durable, natural products available for building use.

Due to the hard wearing nature of granite it has been extensively used as a dimension stone and as flooring tiles in public, residential and commercial buildings and monuments. With increasing amounts of acid rain in parts of the world, granite has begun to supplant marble as a monument material, since it is much more durable.

Colour Fast

Having been formed hundreds of years ago it's a safe bet that any degradation in colour that may have occured to the granite would have already taken place. The evidence of this is clear when looking at homes that were built with granite many years ago; despite years of exposure to the elements these homes retain the exquisite beauty of natural stone.

Many Colours

Depending on chemistry and mineralogy Granite can take on many different colours. Our basic range consists of colours including White, Grey, Black, Green, Yellow, Orange, Burgundy and much more. There's a colour to suite almost any need.

Available in Large Sizes

Most of our Granite's are quarried in huge blocks; this makes it possible for us to acheive sizes that are unachievable with many other natural stones. Due to the hardness of the Granite are also able to produce quite large pieces of stone that are relatively thin but still retain their strength.

Affordable

One of the benefits of having our own quarries, and working closely with other manufacturers, is the ability to pass our savings on to our customers. Many of our granite pavers are comparable in price to concrete and reconstituted pavers.

Slip Resisitant

As many of our products are designed for use externally we have multiple 'finishes' that we can apply to the surface of our pavers to make them non-slip. Because these finishes change the texture of the stone they also effect the colour of the granite. This can be taken advantage of to create different looks while still using the same granite.
