Sandstone is a beautiful and versatile product that adds a feeling of warmth and timeless elegance to compliment or feature any design. Composed mainly of sand-sized mineral or rock grains, it has a visible softness. Like sand, sandstone is available in a large variety of colours, ranging from tans & browns to reds, yellows, and whites. As sandstone beds often form highly visible cliffs, certain colours of sandstone are often strongly identified with certain regions.
Many types of sandstone are resistant to wearing but still pliable, making it a commonly used building & paving material, however it should be used with caution as it is less resistant than harder stones such as granite.
