“I wanted to design an intimate, calming space, with a strong focus on being versatile and functional. A reflection on the backyards size shrinking – while still being able to create functional gardens.
The curved edges and round poles add softness to the steel pergola. The window allows for the foliage of the Birch to spill through breaking up the solid walls, and lush foliage of the Ligularia sitting above the window ledge adds something special as the light hits the leaves.
The cafe setting sits to the side nestled amongst the lush foliage with the Miscanthus catching the breeze bringing softness and movement to the garden.
The addition of a fire pit to the space on cooler nights, extra seating or floor cushions allows plenty of versatility. Add in what you need when you need!
Plan those small spaces carefully for maximum potential! This space is 6x6m in total with the pergola comfortably seating 10-12 on the full size bench seat! Small spaces packing a punch.”
